A Tree-plantation program was successfully conducted at the Sushrutha Hostel Gardens of Narayana Medical College, where the freshers of the MBBS 2025–26 batch actively participated with great enthusiasm. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. P. Sreenivasulu Reddy, Dean of Narayana Medical College and Hospital, and coordinated by the NSS Unit led by Dr. D. M. Karthik, NSS Program Officer along with unit members Mr Narasimha Reddy, NSS student representative with the inspiring theme “A Tree Today, A Legacy Forever,” the initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and social responsibility among the budding medical professionals. The program was graced by Dr. Valathuru Vijayalakshmi, Professor and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology and Warden of the Girls’ Hostel, who served as the chief guest and encouraged the students through her motivating words and active participation.
Special appreciation goes to Mr. Satish Reddy, the Site Engineer, for his support in organizing the plantation area and arranging the saplings, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the event.
Nearly 200 students took part in this green initiative, planting trees across the garden area and displaying exceptional enthusiasm and unity. The presence of interns and postgraduate students alongside the freshers added to the spirit of collaboration and teamwork, turning the event into a memorable and meaningful start to their medical journey. The drive not only contributed to the campus’s greenery but also strengthened the bond between juniors and seniors symbolizing growth, harmony, and responsibility for a better future.
