A state-level One day CME
on
THERAPEUTIC DILEMMAS & CHALLENGES IN DERMATOLOGY

Venue – Gray’s Lecture Hall, Narayana Medical College, Nellore.

This is a state level CME programme organized by the Department of DVL, NMCH in collaboration with IADVL chapter of Nellore (NADVL ).

The programme started at 8:00 am with registration and breakfast. At 9 :00 am, inaugural function started with a prayer song. The delegates were addressed by Dr.V.Surya Prakasa Rao, Dean, NMC, Dr.Vadrevu Ravi ( AP IADVL President ), Dr.K.A.Seetharam ( National IADVL Academy Chairman ), Dr.C.Bhaskar Rao (NADVL president ), Dr.K.Nagarjuna ( Organizing Chairman ), Dr.A.Vijaya Mohan Rao ( Scientific Committee Chairman ), Dr.N.G.Praneeth ( Organizing Secretary ), Dr.J.Pramod Reddy ( NADVL Secretary ), Dr.C.Sridhar Reddy ( NADVL Treasurer ) , Dr.P.Penchala Reddy ( CME Co-coordinator ) and Dr.K.Bujji Babu ( APMC observer ).

The CME was focused at various practical difficulties, challenges and therapeutic dilemmas in the day to day dermatology practice and their management, from the stalwarts of Dermatology Venereology and leprosy fraternity.

The first scientific session was about

  • 1. Lichen Planus and Lichen Planus Pigmentosus by Dr.Vadrevu Ravi, President, AP IADVL, and consultant Dermatologist in Kakinada.

  • 2. Approach to hair loss in women by Dr.K.A.Seetharam, Professor, Dept. Of DVL, GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry.

  • 3. Paediatric Vasculitis by Dr.I.C.Reddy, Professor & HOD, DVL Department, KMC, Kurnool .

The entire session was very much interesting and informative.

The second scientific session was about

  • 1. Therapeutic conundrums in Dermatology by Dr.A.S.Kumar, Professor and HOD Owaisi Hospital, Deccan College of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad.

  • 2. Treatment update on simple to complicated cases of Psoriasis by Dr.A.Parthasaradhi, consultant dermatologist, Anchala skin care foundation, Hyderabad .

  • 3. Art of treatment for Genital Ulcers by Dr.G.Venkata Ramana, Professor GSL Medical College – Rajahmundry, Member of Indian association of S.T.D AND HIV/AIDS.

The session was value adding and enlightening.

The third session was about

  • 1. Challenging cases by Dr.K.N.Sarveswari, Consultant Dermatologist at Sundaram Medical Foundation, Chennai.

  • 2. Challenges in treatment of Recalcitrant Dermatophytoses by Dr.Madhu Rengarajan, Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology, Madras Medical College, Chennai.

  • 3. PRP on hair – updates by Dr. Aarthi Lakshmanan, Consultant Dermatologist at Fortis Hospitals, Chennai.

The entire session was outstanding and exceptionally informative.

The two panel discussions by the eminent panelists focused about practical insights into the latest management modalities in the ever changing aspects of Dermatology like prurigo nodularis, pityriasis rosea, chronic idiopathic urticaria, acanthosis nigricans, post herpetic neuralgia, recurrent sub ungual warts, recurrent folliculitis, pompholyx, adult acne and oral ulcers.

The entire CME was interactive, knowledgeable event and well appreciated by the majority of the deligates.

The CME was attended by 175 delegates from various places of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. All the delegates were provided delicious food and accommodation to the needed.

The CME was concluded by 5 pm with vote of thanks by Dr.C.Sridhar Reddy, followed by National Anthem.

The CME provided a great opportunity in refreshing knowledge, encouraged innovative ideas and nourished our brains.
