Family Adoption Program - MBBS Phase 3 Part 1 (2022-23)
Students of Phase III Part1 MBBS 2022-23 batch were taken to Varigonda village on 03-11-25. They visited the families allotted to them in their 1st year and enquired about their health status, noted down any newly diagnosed diseases, births and deaths in the families. They also imparted health education regarding personal and environmental hygiene and the preventive measures for communicable diseases of public health importance.
Key Objectives
Understanding Community Health: Students learn about the common health issues and challenges faced by a rural community.
Developing Communication Skills: The programme teaches students how to interact with people from diverse backgrounds, building trust and rapport.
Holistic Health Assessment: Students conduct surveys and home visits to assess the family’s health status, including nutrition, hygiene, sanitation, and immunization.
Health Education and Awareness: They educate families on various health topics, such as personal hygiene, disease prevention, and the importance of a balanced diet.
Bridging the Gap: The programme serves as a crucial link between the medical college and the local community, promoting a sense of social responsibility among future doctors.
