About the Department

The eye department with its humble beginning has progressed towards a department with a post graduates teaching program. The department has the state of the art equipments which can be used to manage the complex eye diseases.

The Department has all sub speciality such as Cornea, Vitreoretinal diseases , glaucoma, lens, Neuro -ophthalmology, squint and oculoplasty have been allocated to individual units to improve the knowledge & practical skill of faculty and post graduates.

Academics

Teaching Programme:

The postgraduates work in all two units by rotations, which enable them to gain experience in different sub speciality like Glaucoma, Cornea, Lens, vitreo Retinal, Neuro Ophthalmology, Orbit, Squint, Oculoplasty and others.

Under-graduates programme:

The students also have tutorials, seminars & problem based learning interactive program based on the Harvard recommendations. The undergraduate’s are assessed at regular intervals, with model exams both in theory and clinicals.

    •  – 78.0 D / 90.0D Diagnostic lenses
  • Cornea Diagnostics:
    •   – Keratometry / Placido’s disc

    •  – Frequency doubled Nd-YAG Laser (532 nm) for Retinal Photocoagulation, laser traveculoplasty Nd-YAG Laser (1064 nm) for Posterior Capsulotomy, Laser iridotomy
