At present the institution admits with an annual intake of 250 MBBS students and is recognised by Medical council of India. The programme incepted with intake of 100 students from 1999 and increased to 150 in the year 2007. The 1st batch of 250 was admitted in the year 2014 and Graduated in 2020.
PG Courses:
Our institution has MD/MS courses in all the Pre & Para clinical departments, Medical and surgical broad specialities which are affiliated to Dr NTR university of Health sciences. All the PG courses are recognised by Medical council of India.
Super specialty courses:
Institute offers post graduation (2nd PG) M.Ch in Surgical gastroenterology, Genito-urinary surgery and D.M in Neurology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Nephrology and Medical gastroenterology with an annual intake of two in each department.
Ph.D courses:
The departments of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Pharmacology are recognised PhD centres under Dr.NTR university of Health sciences.

The students of Narayana Medical Institute are encouraged to participate actively in community health services. Under the watchful supervision of the professors, the students impart need-based training and skills to peripheral health workers and community members of adopted primary health centres areas. They are involved in health education programs. The students are also involved in epidemiological surveys.

In Narayana Medical Complex, Medical Education and the electronics & communication media centre is having latest digital systems with internet access, multimedia projection facility, video players, digital cameras supported by the appropriate software for the foundations of e-learning. The existing Air-conditioned auditorium with world-class acoustics, excellent projection system and lighting will be complementing the classroom learning. Narayana teaching hospital has 1450 beds with state of the art equipment and facilities for primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare in 30 departments. It has the separate infrastructure for Administration, -9- Emergency & Critical Care Services, Outpatient and Inpatient services. Also, there are a fully equipped central laboratory, radio diagnostics, physiotherapy division, operation theatre complex and post-operative wards. The in-patient zone has general wards as well as private rooms.
Radiology and clinical laboratories at Narayana hospital are equipped with state of the art equipment which is handled by the competent technicians under the guidance of knowledgeable and experienced faculty. The radiology department has facilities for conventional radiography, special procedures, ultra-sonography(USG), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and mammography. Video-assisted endoscopy unit is available for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
The well-equipped central clinical laboratory consists of clinical pathology, biochemistry and microbiology departments. The laboratory functions round the clock and is a referral centre for nearby hospitals and laboratories. There are 23 operation theatres with senior surgeons heading each department to handle even complicated surgical cases. Such surgeries are streamed live to the classroom where a professor explains the procedure to the students.
The world-class facilities in the operation theatres including laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries complement the skills of the experienced and senior faculty to perform all critical surgical procedures in Cardiology, Nephrology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Dental etc. Anaesthesiology department is well equipped to provide anaesthesia services for all the surgical units. The post-operative care wards, surgical intensive care units and the recovery wards are well equipped and manned by experienced intensive care personnel supervised hands-on experience to the undergraduates, postgraduates, residents and interns is a unique feature at Narayana Teaching Hospital. Interesting and rare procedures are captured by closed-circuit TV cameras for online live demonstration through LAN in the classrooms. They are stored and retrieved for future teaching and demonstration.
