Rules & Regulations of Central Library

  • Whether UG/PG, no student should be allowed to enter the Library without a college identity card.
  • Before entering the center, the users are advised to keep their belongings at the Property Counter. The Library accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage of personal belongings.
  • Due entry into the Bio-metric devices should be made during entry and exit of the Library.
  • Smoking, eating, sleeping, and speaking loudly are strictly prohibited in the Library.
  • Strict SILENCE is enjoined inside the Library, as it is necessary for quiet study.
  • Mobile Phone usage is strictly prohibited inside the library building area, and the users should keep them in switch off/silent mode.
  • Personal/own books are not permitted within the stack area of Central Library.
  • No student should leave their books/belongings in the Library when they go out for snacks/lunch/dinner. The library staff is not responsible for the loss of such things.
  • Users are cautioned to throw any litter in the Central Libray.
  • Books, journals, etc., taken from the shelves for reading should be left on the tables after use.
  • While leaving the Library, students are required to show all books, folders, papers, etc., in their possession at the Central Library's security counter. Users may also be required to submit for inspection any receptacle carried out of the Library.
  • Library books, journals, etc., should not be defaced by underlining/scribbling notes in the margins, tearing papers, etc.
  • Chairs, tables and other library equipment, fittings and furniture should not be marked/deface/disarranged.
  • Users should not reserve seats either for themselves or others by leaving library material or personal property on a reading table.
  • Loss or damage to library material on loan to a user should be reported immediately. The user must pay the cost of replacing a lost or severely damaged book/article.
  • Copyright law should be strictly observed by all library users when making copies of library materials.
  • The purpose of the Internet in the Library is for reference work. Computers are for educational use only. Accessing unauthorized sites, playing games, chattings, etc., is strictly prohibited.
  • Users are required to vacate the Library at designated closing times.
  • Residents of the hostels(girls) inside the campus should register their names with the caretakers if they utilize the Library after 9:00 PM on weekdays.
  • Notices, handouts or related material may only be displayed in the Library with the permission of the Librarian.
  • The Chief Librarian is the authority for the Library like any other head of the department.
  • Users should follow the Library rules, failing which the Librarian has the authority to discipline the users and bring the same to the notice of the principal of the respective institutions and the library committee based on which disciplinary measures will be implemented.
  • Providing services for outside students (Membership and Declaration Form Should be submitted).
